This week

We have had a great summer week. Sat we went to the "farmers market" in our small town. I guess you can call four booths a farmers market right? We did get some Okr-y (Shannon and the girls have been tormenting me by using this pronunciation) and some great squash and peaches. Then found a new playground that the big girls enjoyed while Shannon and I took turns in the car with Caroline.

No wonder my children are constantly going the wrong way up the slide.

We also had a great playdate on a rainy day with some friends. Spiderman (T) and unknown (at least by me) Racecar driver (Hayden) had a great time. (It's good to know she can quickly transition from princess to spiderman)

The two princesses had a great time as well. Even the Mom's got to 'play' while Miss C took a quick nap.
And we had a week full of rainly swimming lessons. They have had such a great time rain or not.

Some recent Anabelle-isms...

"Sorry I licked your eye Cay-o-line. Do you forgive me?" I wouldn't have known anything about this if I had not overheard her apology.

Me: What did you do to Taylor?

A: I punched her in the stomach.

Me: Why

A: No reason

A: (read with all the drama of a 3 yr old girl) This is thu wohst day of my whole ti-ud life.

For the record, that was after I withheld a snack on the half a mile ride from the pool to our house.

No one ever accused them of overdoing it.

After all of 5 minutes of being outside in the relatively mild July weather they both decided they needed a break. Anabelle explained to me that they were just going to sit in their beach chairs and get a drink and relax. Other phrases heard while outside today: "OK, I'm done playing that, I'm gettting a little hot." "But I want to go inside where it is cool and not hot"

So maybe we've spent a little too much time at the pool or indoors this summer. I need to work on that...

(note the cool outfits ;)

3 year olds are funny

Just a few glimpses into the vocabulary of a three year old...

ASK-a-dent (accident) I am only getting the cute version of this word one out of every two times, but I cherrish it.

'Can I play a pom CUTER game? (computer)

"Taylor!!! STOP you are INstracting me!" (distracting)

"Can we go to the BLUE toy store? b/c we haven't go-ed to it yet."

My most recent favorite statement...
"Mommy, you are my most favorite mommy, I ever seen."

AND "It's just me and you kid."

They're BA-ACK!

I'm sure you have all figured that out by the lack of posts. We met Papaw and Gran half way last weekend and boy were we glad to see the big girls. I think Caroline was even excited.
Since we've been back, we have had swimming lessons, drs appts, sonic sundae picnics. Such a great summer week so far.
No words for this last picture. I'll just tell you that when I left she was watching cartoons in my bed and when I came back I found this. (she is still watching cartoons) How could I not take a picture.

Quiet house

Things are really quiet around here this week. Caroline doesn't know what to think without two big sisters constantly 'loving' on her. Shannon and I had a date night tonight, with zero children. Our sweet friends the Halls kept Miss C while we had dinner at our favorite resturant. So fun. Notice the sweet camera taking skills. I'm glad Shannon has long arms. :)

Rewind to Monticello

We made a short stop in Monticello on our way to drop off the girls. We got to see the brand new twins (little bitty), the brand new MBSF center (it is awesome) and play with the Taylors and Leonards. I learned three things

1. I'm WAAAAAAY too old to stay up into the wee hours talking and laughing with friends.
2. Rob and Carla are the cutest of grandparents.
3. Emily (my former FLOWERGIRL!!) would be an AMAZING babysitter if she only lived closer.

Nanny Nanny Boo Boo

This week she's getting all the attention in Alabama, while Taylor and Anabelle get spoiled rotten in Arkansas. Next week EVERYONE will be going thru some major withdrawl, but we'll deal with that then. For now, it's party time!!!!!

Perfectly Seasoned

"I accidentally put pepper in Caroline's eye. " Can someone explain to me how that can possibly be an accident? My sweet, compassionate child, the one who asks me about the status of my paper cut hours later....what possessed her? Taylor felt so bad that she sobbed for at least 30 minutes. Later after everyone was calm. Caroline looked up at Taylor and smiled. Taylor said, "Look Mommy, she can still smile." Apparently she thought she had ruined her. Needless to say, the salt and pepper shakers are very high and out of reach NOW. And One older sister will be staying a safe 5 feet away from one smaller sister for the remainder of the day. Oh the drama that is my life...... :)

Actually...she does look pretty mischievous in this picture taken post-pepper.
Crazy little Anabelle. What am I going to do with that hair???

Three Months OLD!!

I can't believe she's already three months old. I promise she is growing faster than Taylor and Anabelle did. This is going much too quickly. As Anabelle has begun saying, "I want to keep her."

Summer is...

Visits from Papaw and Gran...

SWIMMING!!!!

Rolling in...I mean eating watermelon.

Having fun with berries.

This happens to be one of my favorite expressions. It is a mix of fear and pure jubilation. Most of the time it happens when the older two are less than a couple of inches from Miss C's face.

What I read into this face is "seriously, you are just gonna stand there and let this happen?"

What are my chances?

Am I ever going to get a picture of all three of the girls? It's not looking good. This was our attempt on Sunday.
