We've already had so much fun! After a year of planning everyday for school we are working really hard to just enjoy our time. We spend time watching cartoons, going to the library, going to the pool, playing with friends, reading....it has been a blast! So so thankful for this time with my girls!

First Day of school 2013-2014
I can NOT believe it is that time already!!!! But we had our first day of school yesterday and it was event filled. Every year I try to figure out a way to make the first day if school exciting. Last year I did each subject in a different location in the house. This year we expanded that and we did each subject at a different location around town. So fun! Started at with an actual cooked breakfast at home (NOT a normal Thing for me to do) and did our bible/devo there. Then we all loaded up (along with all our school work for the day) and headed out. Grammar in the car on the way to Krispy Kreme. Picked up our donuts and then did our History reading at a park with a playground. Left there and went to the library where we did Math and Grammar (and played on the IPads). We left there and ate our hot dogs at Tip Top grill over looking the city! We met Daddy for a new first day of school tradition of cupcakes at GiGis and ended up at the pool with our buddies. We finished our reading, writing and Science when we got home, after showers in our PJs but it was great! Girls enjoyed it and I did too!
Now, keepin' it real:
-There were tears in the first 45 minutes of school over the abbreviations on this years planners!?!?
-I may have said at one point, "if I hear any more arguing we are going straight home!"
-Anabelle got a bee sting at the park
-Caroline was overheard saying, "I don't want to go to four year old class if I have to do Math and Science"
Not a perfect day, but a great way to start our year. Sooooo blessed to spend my day with these three ladies!

Four year olds
This girl smells like the pool, big spray and "hanzatizer". She's telling me a story. She's kinda awesome.

Taylor's one year away from double digits
This beautiful young lady turned 9 this week. Isn't that just unbelievable? She has taught us so much. Some days I think she's smarter than Shannon and I put together. And then there's the little girl who still loves her American Girl doll and her Lalaloopsy. What a sweet heart she has become. I wouldn't trade anything for these last two years that I got to spend so much time with her while homeschooling. Are there days when I'm absolutely nuts? ABSOLUTELY!! But all in all, I feel like I know her so much better than I did. She is learning constantly (sometimes when I wish she wasn't), but she's learning none the less. One day I'll look back on this picture and think what a little girl, but now, I look at it and think she looks sooo grown up. Happy Birthday Taylor!!!

Plugging along in school
We've been hard at work with school lately. Caroline is loving going to "pwe-school." It must be something about her age, but suddenly so many things are coming together in that little brain of hers. It's so fun to hear her explain how things work to me. Boy does she have a personality!!! The big girls (Taylor has asked me to stop calling her that, so don't tell her) went to a great art class last week. This was their interpretation of Ps 113:3.
I found this super sweet note this morning. That right there will melt your heart any day. Poor kid is going to spell like her mother. ;)

WPS!!!
We had a fantastic time in Auburn today with Papaw and Gran. The girls were great sports. In fact Anabelle was upset that we left with just a few min left to beat the crowd. Most importantly, we WON!!!
